Select an issue to view its money trail.
What's a money trail? The money trail begins with the entities (countries, businesses, politicians, and so on) that can affect the issue. These are the targets. The trail shows which other entities have an influence on the targets. These are called pressure points. The trail shows the targets, their pressure points, the entities which can influence those pressure points, and so on. The trail ends at businesses which you, the consumer, can choose to frequent or not. By boycotting these businesses—and telling them you're doing so—you can put pressure on the target entity.
For example, an specific country might be able to change the status of an issue. That country may be choosing not to effect change because of economic interests. The country is the target. The money trail begins with this target. Major businesses in that country have an impact on its economy. By pressuring these businesses, you put pressure on the target. Most of these major businesses are best targeted through their subsidiaries, which may also have subsidiaries. Thus, the money trail can be several levels deep. At the bottom, the individual consumer—you—either supports the targets choices or pressures the target to change, simply by choosing where to spend your money.
